Transforming Lives Through Care and Support – Jokceebe Relief Hand Foundation

As part of our Giving Tuesday Special Edition for Nigeria’s First Giving Festival, we’re highlighting organisations bringing hope and support to vulnerable communities across the country.

Jokceebe Relief Hand Foundation (Jokceebe) is one of them — a nonprofit dedicated to providing helping hands to the homeless, orphans, widows, and physically or mentally challenged individuals in society.

Their work focuses on health initiatives, community support, and empowerment programs that aim to give everyone the opportunity to reach their potential.

1. If someone is hearing about your organisation for the first time, how would you describe what you do?

Jokceebe Relief Hand Foundation aims at giving helping hands to the homeless, orphans, widows, and mentally or physically challenged people in our society to help them reach their God-given potential. We work through community-based interventions, medical outreach programs, empowerment initiatives for widows, and educational support, ensuring those most in need can access essential services and resources.

2. What are the biggest challenges your community faces?

In Ayobo, Lagos, many people face health challenges and limited access to basic services. Widows, orphans, and other vulnerable groups often struggle to meet basic needs, gain skills, and secure a sustainable livelihood. Jokceebe works to bridge these gaps by providing medical support, skill-building programs, and other forms of direct assistance.

3. Can you share a memorable story or project that reflects your impact?

One of our most impactful programs has been the medical outreach in Ayobo, where we provided:

  • Free medical checkups for 150 people
  • Free drugs and treatment
  • Free eye glasses (100 recipients)
  • Blood pressure and blood sugar checks for diabetes patients
  • Malaria and typhoid screening

In addition, we have empowered widows by giving them grinding machines, teaching soap production, and other livelihood skills. These programs have helped them gain independence and confidence, showing the power of practical support combined with care and mentorship.

4. Why is participating in Nigeria’s First Giving Festival important to your organisation?

Participating in the festival allows us to showcase our passion for helping the less privileged, connect with like-minded organisations, and inspire more people to contribute to community welfare. It is a chance to highlight the work we do, share stories of impact, and encourage collective action to support those in need.

5. What do you hope to achieve or highlight on December 2nd?

We want to show people that Jokceebe Relief Hand Foundation has a genuine heart for giving. Our goal is to raise awareness about our programs, connect with donors and supporters, and encourage collaboration to extend the reach of our medical and empowerment initiatives.

6. Which project or initiative will you be spotlighting during the festival?

Our medical outreach program in Ayobo will be the highlight. This program addresses urgent health needs, provides free checkups, essential medications, and eye care services, and offers practical support to widows and other vulnerable groups. It reflects our commitment to uplifting individuals and improving community health outcomes.

7. Any additional message you’d like to share with donors, supporters, or the GivingTuesday audience?

We encourage support for our mission of giving willingly and making a difference in the lives of those who need it most. Jokceebe Relief Hand Foundation aims to continue expanding our reach, empower more widows and vulnerable individuals, and create lasting impact across the community.
