In communities where access to basic child protection and hygiene education is limited, Olaoye Muibat Adesewa Child Care Foundation (OMACCF) is creating meaningful change. The organization equips vulnerable children with essential resources, knowledge, and life skills that help them thrive academically and socially.
Through programs like the Pad-A-Girl & Personal Hygiene Initiative and the Bag, Book & Pen-A-Child Project, OMACCF works to remove barriers that prevent children from reaching their full potential, while empowering communities to support safe and healthy environments for young people.
1. If someone is hearing about your organization for the first time, how would you describe what you do?
OMACCF is a nonprofit committed to promoting child protection, personal hygiene education, and overall community welfare. We focus on supporting vulnerable children through initiatives such as the Pad-A-Girl & Personal Hygiene Initiative and the Bag, Book & Pen-A-Child Project.
Our mission is to create safer environments for children, empower communities with knowledge, and provide essential resources that help children thrive.
2. What are the biggest challenges children in your community face?
Many children in underserved areas lack access to basic welfare resources, guidance on personal hygiene, and safe environments. These challenges affect their wellbeing, confidence, and ability to thrive academically and socially.
OMACCF addresses this by running initiatives that provide hygiene kits, school uniforms, shoes, and educational materials. We also engage parents, caregivers, and community leaders through advocacy and sensitization programs focused on child safety and rights.
3. Can you share a memorable story or project that reflects your impact?
One moment that captures OMACCF’s impact occurred during our Pad-A-Girl & Personal Hygiene outreach. A young girl approached our team after receiving her hygiene kit and explained it was the first time she truly understood menstrual hygiene. She had previously missed school due to lack of knowledge and supplies.
Weeks later, her principal informed us that the girl was now attending school consistently and participating actively. This demonstrates how even small interventions can remove barriers and empower children to succeed.
4. Why is participating in Nigeria’s First Giving Festival important to your organization?
GivingTuesday represents a nationwide moment of collective generosity and community spirit. For OMACCF, it is a chance to amplify the voices of vulnerable children, connect with supporters, and inspire more people to take action.
Generosity is about creating ripple effects — removing barriers for children, restoring hope for families, and sparking broader change in communities.
5. What do you hope to achieve or highlight on December 2nd?
We aim to:
- Raise awareness about the needs of vulnerable children and the work OMACCF is doing.
- Mobilize community members, partners, and supporters to join our cause through donations, volunteering, or advocacy.
- Strengthen connections with individuals and organizations that believe in creating safe, healthy spaces for children.
Our goal is simple: to use this day of generosity to create measurable impact for the children and families we serve.
6. Which project or initiative will you be spotlighting during the festival?
OMACCF will focus on personal hygiene education and the consequences of poor hygiene if not addressed early. This initiative lays the foundation for healthier practices and awareness that will support our upcoming 2026 projects.
7. How can donors and supporters get involved?
Supporters can:
- Join our awareness sessions on personal hygiene.
- Participate in conversations and amplify our message on social media.
- Volunteer, partner for our 2026 projects, or make financial/in-kind contributions to strengthen initiatives.
Every form of engagement helps extend our reach and deepen our impact.
8. Any additional message to donors, supporters, or the GivingTuesday audience?
We sincerely thank everyone who stands with us. Every act of generosity, whether sharing our message, volunteering, partnering, or giving, helps us reach more children and build healthier, safer communities.
As we look ahead to 2026, we invite everyone to stay connected and continue supporting our mission. Together, we can create a brighter future for every child.
